“Teach your children to be grateful first, then let them learn success”, that’s the message which was heard in Ashram this morning.
This message is very important, without gratitude no matter how much success one achieve, life can be very dangerous.
Michael Jackson is one of our teacher in this case. Again, he’s our teacher. Michael was very successful. The sad story, he suffered a lot.
It’s understandable if Balinese elders put much emphasis on having happy family. Especially because family is fountain of gratitude. And our family is much wider than just biological family.
Look at the old tradition of segehan, which give food to lower scary realms, it’s an explicit statement even hell beings and satan are our family.
In Bali there’s special day to be thankful to the tree. It’s called tumpek pengatag. Again, it’s an explicit statement that trees are also our family.
When it comes to the love to human beings, the love expression is much deeper. Look at Pura Merajan, special temple dedicated to ancesteros, even when the love one passed away thousand years ago, we still love them.
The spiritual invitation then, let’s teach our children and our leaders deeper love. It begins with self-love (self-forgiveness, self-acceptance, inner harmony).
Remember, only those who have war inside will make war outside. Those who are full of love inside will meet love outside.
If we are blessed to share this peaceful vibration of Bali island to the world leaders of G20, certainly and no doubt, we beautify earth with beautiful heart.
