Some of western friends who come to Bali very often, some of them even live in Bali share the same story about Bali.

“The best place to enjoy old age on earth is Bali. The best place to die on earth also in Bali”. When I asked them the reason, the explanation is very touching.

While in the west old people are very lonely, in Bali younger generations take good care of old people with all deep respect.

Even after the old people passed away, there are ritual of ngaben as deep expresion of love the the elder.

In special temple which is dedicated to ancestros called Pura Merajan, Balinese keep expressing their love and respect to the elders.

If we the Balinese share this story, it sounds arrogance. But the above story come from western friend. In short, Balinese quality of love to elders is much deeper than most places in the world.

That’s another reason why Elizebeth Gilbert concluded in her beautiful book (movie): “Nice food was found in Italy, beautiful prayer was heard in India. And true love can only be found in Bali”.

Suppose we can share this peaceful and love spirit of Bali to the incoming world leaders of G20, no doubt, we transfer Bali harmony into world harmony.
